Solutions for Urgent Dental Needs
Receive prompt care for your dental emergency, often on the same day you call. We reserve time in our schedule specifically for emergency patients, allowing us to accommodate urgent needs without extensive waiting. When you're in pain, every minute counts—our efficient scheduling and diagnosis process helps you get the relief you need as quickly as possible.
If a permanent tooth is knocked out, retrieve it holding only the crown (not the root), rinse it gently without scrubbing, and if possible, place it back in the socket facing the correct way. If you can't reinsert it, keep the tooth moist in milk, saliva, or a tooth preservation product. Then call us immediately—the best chance for saving the tooth occurs when treatment is received within 30-60 minutes. For primary (baby) teeth, don't attempt to reinsert them, but do contact us for guidance.
Severe, persistent pain that interferes with eating, sleeping, or daily activities generally warrants emergency attention. Other signs that indicate an emergency include significant swelling, bleeding that doesn't stop with pressure, obvious infection (fever, foul taste, pus), or trauma affecting multiple teeth or causing jaw mobility issues. Even if you're unsure, we encourage you to call—our team can help determine the urgency of your situation.
If you experience a dental emergency outside our regular hours, call our main office number (305-451-8005). Our after-hours message will provide instructions for reaching our on-call service. For emergencies involving significant facial swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or uncontrolled bleeding, proceed to the nearest emergency room, then contact our office for follow-up dental care.
The cost of emergency dental care varies based on the specific treatment needed to address your situation. During your emergency visit, we'll provide a clear explanation of the recommended treatment and associated costs before proceeding. We accept various payment methods and can discuss payment arrangements if needed. Most importantly, don't let financial concerns prevent you from seeking care for serious dental emergencies, as delayed treatment often leads to more extensive and expensive problems.
Dental emergencies can be stressful and painful. Our compassionate team is here to provide the prompt, effective care you need to get comfortable again. If you're experiencing dental pain or have suffered an injury to your teeth or mouth, don't hesitate to call—we prioritize emergency patients and will work to see you as quickly as possible.
